I feel very fortunate to be able to do work that I love, and through
that work to be an integral part of assisting each of my clients
on their journey’s toward healing and creating the life of their
hearts desires.
I offer therapy in a compassionate, non-judgmental environment that
allows my clients to explore the things that scare them most. I
believe that all parts of us are to be valued, even our defenses,
and dark sides. I can help you learn when different aspects
of yourself may or may not be working for you, when to utilize different
parts, and when it is best for a part to take a seat quietly in the
back.
I see my role as one of support to facilitate my clients journey’s
of healing, identifying and accessing all the skills, gifts, and
talents they already have within them (but may be unaware of). Through
offering perspective, different ways of looking at an issue or event,
educating, informing and challenging clients, observations, metaphors,
dream exploration, etc., clients have the opportunity to move forward
past obstacles towards their goals, and begin to create and experience
the life they desire.
I will assist you in identifying and setting your own goals for therapy,
in identifying obstacles and challenges to achieving those goals,
and teach you the tools that will assist you in meeting those goals.
I have over 18 years of experience in both the private practice
and public mental health sectors as both a marriage and family therapist,
and a clinical supervisor to mental health professionals. My
experience includes individual, couple and group work with adults,
couples, families, blended families, seniors, and GLB, with issues
related to individual growth, relationships, life transitions, grief/loss,
anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood abuse, codependency, anger,
divorce, care-taker issues, parenting, and dream work.
I have trained seniors to become peer counselors, and facilitated
and supervised them in weekly consultation groups.
I like spending my time doing the things that bring me the most
joy and inner peace- spending time: enjoying the present moment ;
with my family, friends, pets; spending time alone to renew myself;
cooking; eating good food; going on adventures; traveling;
gardening, in nature; art, listening to music; watching movies; reading,
and always learning something new.
"A sense
of Authenticity is one of our deepest psychological needs, and
people are more hungry for it than ever, even so being true to
oneself is not for the faint of heart. are you up to living an
authentic life?"
